Technology for Global Development (TGD) is a University-wide forum supported by the TU/e Board of Directors to promote awareness in the TU/e community about how its students and staff can contribute effectively to the design and implementation of innovative technological solutions for major global problems, with a special focus on the developing countries.
The office promotes the social, intellectual and cultural interests of students. Together with students, SG organizes activities ranging from lectures to exhibitions, and from workshop to theater and film performances. SG also has the task of strengthening the cultural role of the university in the city and the region, and of supporting and promoting student art.
Team Energy is a team of TU/e students with different educational background, qualities and expertises who actively promote knowledge and participation of TU/e students in the energy field. The members of Team Energy share a passion for sustainable energy and they are subdivided in different groups to work on different activities from challenges to congress.
Located in a Farmhouse in Tongelre, Wasven combines cultural and natural greenery activities, providing locally produced products thanks to the hard work of its volunteers and mentally challenged people. They have their own coffee roasting facilities and exposition space. The foundation aims to preserve the area Wasven and strengthen it through sustainability.
TU/e has a Community Garden since 2013 located between Connector building and Paviljoen. Students and staff members work together to grow vegetables and fruits on Campus. Their motto is where innovation starts in the gard. They also organize interesting events, from grow your own mushrooms and tuinhacks until cooking with a chef.
Meet, explore, inspire … TINT is an active student community in Eindhoven aiming towards personal and cultural development, whilst having a good time. They also offer you help form a life coach to get your life in balance again.You can talk to the life coach concerning personal problems, development, and spirituality, ethics and social engagement.
Rechtstreex is a company that brings organic products from local farms to people. They work directly with farmers and producers, offering them and their consumers a fair price to stimulate the local economy. They offered the GO Green Office Vegetables Bag with delicious products for only €5! Unfortunately, at this moment they are only active in Rotterdam.
Join-the-Pipe is the first community of tap water drinkers with the goal of bringing clean water to the world. They promote tap water drinking while helping other developing nations gain access to clean water and sanitation through refillable water bottles and other initiatives. They introduced the BOGO Bottle, buy one give one.
De Zwarte Doos
Grand Cafe De Zwarte Doos is located at the TU/e entrance, accessible to everyone. They know how to combine local food with fair trade ingredients to delicious meals. You can find the fair trade, organic drinks LemonAid and ChariTea in their assortment. In their film theatre they have a variety of movies among them also movies related to sustainability and social impact.
